Parent-teacher Communication
We can never stress enough how important parent-teacher communication is! Please feel free to call the school or send us a quick message on Remind 101 if you have any questions or concerns. Sometimes the messages between home and school can get a little mixed up, so it’s best to stay up-to-date by using the following resources:
1. Student Agenda – Students are encouraged to use their agenda to record any homework they may have.
2. Class Website – You already found it!
3. Remind 101 – Do you have email, an iPhone or an Android? Then Remind101 can help us stay connected. This app will allow us to send a mass message directly to you to let you to inform you about upcoming events, due dates or graded assignments that need to be signed! Both of us will have access to account, so all questions can be sent to ‘L. Pike’ and Mme Majzlanova will still be to see them and respond. You can also click on the 'HOME' tab to see a livefeed of our Remind accounts. We will be able to respond to any questions on Remind during our scheduled prep times throughout the work day.
4. School Newsletter – Each month, a school newsletter will be posted on our school website. You can access it by clicking here.

Lunches and Snacks!
Just a reminder that our school is a peanut-free environment! We have a few students at our school who can have a life-threatening allergic reaction if exposed to peanuts or peanut residue. Please read snack labels carefully.
Students are encouraged to bring a water bottle to school. Healthy snacks are encouraged and any waste should be `boomeranging’ back home in lunch bags. Student are free to have their snacks throughout the day when they are hungry, as long as they are not distracting themselves or others and are still on task.
***Students in junior grades, including Grade 6, who usually stay for lunch at school will need a parent/guardian to come into the school to sign them out in order to leave school property.

TECHNOLOGY USE
You and your child will need to read and sign the ‘Safe Computer Use Agreement’ located in the front of the student agenda. Both Grade 6 classes will be participating in Digital Citizenship Training before they can regularly access laptops or use their Personal Electronic Devices (PEDs) in class when they have permission to do so.
Students are not allowed to have PEDs out at school without teacher supervision and permission. PEDs should never be out at lunch or on the yard. Should a student need to make a phone call home, they can use the phone located in the office.
